Leadership growth should not have to happen in isolation.

Aphori Consulting was created for leaders who need a trusted space to think clearly, reflect honestly, and move forward with greater confidence.

Founded by Katy Williams, Ph.D., Aphori brings together leadership self-efficacy research, more than two decades of leadership experience, and a deeply human approach to growth.

Meet Katy Williams, Ph.D.

Founder & Principal Consultant, Aphori Consulting

Superintendent • Executive Leader • Leadership Researcher • National Trainer

I created Aphori because I know what it means to carry leadership responsibility.

I also know that the further you move into leadership, the harder it can become to find a place where you can speak openly, test your thinking, question an assumption, or simply say, “I’m not sure yet.”

Leaders are often expected to be steady, confident, and decisive — even when the work is complex, the path forward is uncertain, and the pressure is significant.

Aphori exists to provide space for those moments.

A place to slow down, make sense of what you are carrying, consider different perspectives, reconnect with your strengths, and determine what wise action looks like next.

Research-Informed. Experience-Grounded.

I hold a Ph.D., and my research examining leadership self-efficacy continues to influence the work of Aphori.

At its core, leadership self-efficacy is about a leader’s belief in their ability to successfully navigate the challenges in front of them.

That belief matters.

Leaders do not simply need more information or another list of strategies. They need opportunities to reflect, make sense of complexity, recognize what is already available within and around them, consider new perspectives, take meaningful action, and learn from what happens next.

That is why Aphori is designed to strengthen a leader’s clarity, confidence, and capacity — not create dependence on an outside expert.

The goal is not for you to need Aphori forever.

The goal is for you to leave stronger than you came.

What Shapes the Work

Research-grounded leadership growth

Leadership self-efficacy, confidence, and capacity provide an important foundation for how Aphori approaches growth.

Real-world leadership experience

The work is informed by firsthand experience with organizational complexity, executive decision-making, governance, change, pressure, and responsibility.

Human connection

Leadership is deeply human. Growth requires trust, honest reflection, curiosity, and space to think without needing to perform.

Strength-based action

Aphori helps leaders identify what is already available within themselves, their relationships, and their context — and translate that understanding into meaningful action.

Independence, not dependence

The purpose of the work is to strengthen your ability to navigate leadership challenges with greater clarity and confidence long after an engagement ends.

What You Can Expect From Me

You can expect thoughtful questions, genuine curiosity, candor, reflection, and challenge when challenge is useful.

I will listen carefully to what you are saying — and often to what may be underneath it.

I will bring my own leadership experience and perspective into the conversation when it adds value, but I will not assume that my answer should automatically become yours.

My role is not to tell you how to lead.

It is to help you see more clearly, think more intentionally, recognize possibilities, and determine what makes sense in your context.
